Little Bookworms just had their second workshop. This time, instead of a caterpillar, we chose a little spider. As the title says, it is a story of a little spider who was very diligent. He was working very hard to spin his very first web. The big spider saw the little spider spinning his web and he decided to swing on his web. Then a fly came and saw the big spider swinging and realized it was all because of the little spider. So the fly decided to buzz, buzz and buzz. A bee saw the fly buzzing and decided she will hum, hum and hum. The cricket heard the bee hum, so he decided he'll chirp, chirp and chirp. And all because of the little spider who was spinning his web. An ant saw the cricket chirp and he decided to run to and fro. A beautiful butterfly saw the ant run to and fro because of the little spider and the butterfly decided to fly with his wings wide open. The bird saw the butterfly and decided to sing and sing. The children heard the bird singing and were very happy.

Why?

It was all because of the little spider who was spinning his very first web.

After reading the story, we listen to the audio recording and the video recording as well after which we revised the vocabulary using flashcards which the teacher made. We imitated the sounds of the animals from the story and had a great time and lots of laughs while doing it.

After that, it was time for some craftwork.Each student got his/her own canvas which they coloured orange using the acrylic paint. After it dried, they coloured one of their palms black and left their print on the canvas. They put a little bit of glitter on it. After it dried, they glued the googly eyes and draw spider's webs in the corners used a special kind of a pen. The final result: a cute little black spider and his webs. Perfect, isn't it?

Like little spider who was very diligent when his web was concerned, so are the three Little Bookworms when it comes down to reading! It's true - reading is a passion!
