On Friday, 11 March 2022, the 10th International Hippo English Without Borders Olympiad was held. Students from the 5th to the 8th class took part. They competed in three categories - Hippo 1 (CERF A1 YL) – Dora Mance, Hippo 2 (CERF A1) – Sara Karabatković, Tamara Kljajić, Petra Rebić, and Hippo 3 (CERF A2) – Darin Goršić, Dina Marković, Aleksandra Ninković, Vladimir Kljajić, Božana Gvero, Marko Karabatković. The Olympiad is held worldwide from the 1st class of the primary school to the 4th class of the secondary school (according to the prescribed categories). It is sponsored by Bucksmore Education, Gatehouse Awards, and Mizzou Academy, University of Missouri. The last Olympiad held in 2021 gathered around 48 000 students from 50 countries from different parts of the world.
We are all eagerly waiting for the second half of March and the final results of the Hippo Without Borders Olympiad. Our students competed in three parts of the English language: reading, listening, and the use of English. They were given the certificates of participation.

On 7 October we visited one of Crotian national parks which is also the oldest one. We had a lot of fun on the way there...as well as on the way home...At first the weather was cloudy but it wasn't raining. However, our luck didn't last...During the second half of our sightseeing the rain started...and we hurried to the bus...Some of us got wet more than others.
Despite the weather we had the best time ever!
P.S. It was also our teacher's birthday and our present to her was a folk song wishing her to live until she's 105 and then all over again!
