March 30th at the Nikola Tesla Elementary School in Moravice was a joyful and solemn day. Students of our school Darin Goršić, Dina Marković, Doris Klaić, Petra Rebić, Tamara Kljajić, Dora Mance and Dora Štefančić were formally presented with certificates for participation in the national competition in writing short stories up to 2000 words organized by the Croatian Association of Teachers of English Language. At the competition, which received 69 papers in the category of 5th and 6th grade and 94 works in the category of 7th and 8th grade, our students achieved excellent success. Namely, they all placed in the top 50% of the best in the Republic of Croatia. Particularly successful were Dora Štefančić, who took a high 9th out of 69 places and Doris Klaić who took 3rd place in the overall standings of 94 students. As the third-place finisher in the Republic of Croatia, in addition to the certificate, she was also presented with awards from the Croatian Association of Teachers of English Language (a smartwatch) and this year's sponsor Školska knjiga (a gift bag with books, wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse).
Our Doris and Dora also did their first official interview that day, which you was published on the pages of Novi list.
We are extremely proud of the success of our students and we heartily wish them a lot of success in further competitions. Let this competition be just one step in the way of future successes!
On 7 October we visited one of Crotian national parks which is also the oldest one. We had a lot of fun on the way there...as well as on the way home...At first the weather was cloudy but it wasn't raining. However, our luck didn't last...During the second half of our sightseeing the rain started...and we hurried to the bus...Some of us got wet more than others.
Despite the weather we had the best time ever!
P.S. It was also our teacher's birthday and our present to her was a folk song wishing her to live until she's 105 and then all over again!
